Senior Civil Estimator

Gold Coast, Queensland

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Submitting E.O.I.’s, engaging new clients and subcontractors to further business development.
  • Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends.
  • Review and accurately estimate the scope of work, including quantities and costs as described in tender documents in a timely and cost effective manner using first principles estimating and assist in allocating the B.O.Q. for costing purposes.
  • Develop and prepares risk and opportunity analysis of tenders, feasibilities and budgets for projects and presents these to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Provide technical inputs, with nominated personnel, to ensure the timely completion of estimates.
  • Win bids by providing smart methodologies, strategies and identifying opportunities that can give PCA a competitive edge and win the contract.
  • Capturing and implementing opportunities to improve our Business Development capability.
  • Complies with Company Quality Assurance Systems & Procedures along with other relevant operating procedures.
  • Familiar with Contract Administration and the ability to interpret Contract Conditions.
  • Familiar with RMS Specifications & requirements for road & bridge works generally.
  • Must hold valid Australian Driver’s Licence.

As the suitable candidate for this role, you will possess a tertiary degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, along with a minimum of 5-7 years+ experience performing hard dollar estimating for civil construction & infrastructure projects, both as principal / head contractor & a specialist sub-contractor on major infrastructure projects.

You will need a broad understanding of the civil construction industry practices and demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and build strong client relationships.

You will have experience working for civil construction and / or ground engineering companies in the Australian infrastructure market and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Your advanced computer literacy skills, along with your experience in the use of Estimating Package will be viewed favourably.
